Fleet Package Pricing
Fleet Package Pricing was initially launched on 1st August 2003 within participating members of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle network with the aim of facilitating the delivery of manufacturer recommended whole-life costs and assist fleet users in controlling their maintenance budgets.
This transparent maximum pricing package for fleet customers covers all Service, Maintenance and Repair costs and is based on three elements aimed at achieving consistent standards across participating members of the Volkswagen Van Centre network within a competitive and transparent pricing structure. There are no hidden extras and operators will know exactly where they stand.
Fleet Package Pricing is based on standard Volkswagen times for all Service, Maintenance and Repair elements and Volkswagen recommended retail parts prices.
Historically labour rates appear to have been relatively inconsistent within the industry, and research suggested more consistency was needed throughout our network in formulating a national proposition for fleet operators. With five maximum labour rate price bands identified, many Van Centres nationally are participating in Fleet Package Pricing and have committed to the Service Standards benchmark.
This national fleet aftersales programme provides a consistent, competitive and transparent fleet offering aimed at simplifying and improving the way we do business with our customers.
Comprehensive commitment.
Participating Van Centres have commited to the basic maximum pricing offer to fleet customers which includes a number of free-fit items and is backed by a comprehensive service commitment on the part of all participating Van Centres. Free fitting applies to components such as easily accessible exterior bulbs and windscreen wiper blades, provided the work is done during a normal service. Additionally free consumables such as windscreen fluid may also be included, and no charge will be made for the environmental disposal of oil. Vehicles that have been in for a major service will also qualify for a free wash wherever possible.
Participating Volkswagen Van Centres are committed to the Fleet Package Pricing programme and promise to go the extra mile to help operators where they can.
Fitting in last minute service work is never easy, but where no alternative transport is required, Van Centres will generally work to a lead time of three working days. In cases where alternative transport is required, the lead time is five working days. Important exceptions here are a breakdown recovery, or a 'drive-in', in the case of a safety related item that results in the vehicle being inoperable.
In these instances, vehicles will receive immediate attention. In the case of a breakdown recovery to a Van Centre, a repair status will be issued within 24 hours of its arrival. Volkswagen Roadside Assistance will offer the driver a replacement vehicle should it be requested, if it has been established that the vehicle can not be repaired and returned to service within 3 hours of the vehicle arriving at the Van Centre following the recovery.
Volkswagen Roadside Assistance will then establish if the breakdown meets the terms and conditions of the scheme. If approved, a loan vehicle will be supplied free of charge for two days initially, under the benefits of the scheme. Any extension to the initial loan vehicle period will be handled through the repairing Volkswagen Van Centre.
For routine servicing, participating Van Centres can offer a number of alternatives to suit individual needs and can make arrangements to collect and deliver vehicles over reasonable time/distances.
Or, if a vehicle is delivered to the Van Centre, we will endeavour to get the driver to their required destination. Given a lead time of five working days, participating Van Centres can normally arrange a courtesy vehicle.
Fleet customers who join the Fleet Package Pricing programme will receive software, which provides the same figures used to construct maximum job prices at the Van Centre and therefore provides a common base from which both parties work. The CD will also contain details of all participating Van Centres, their location and their chosen maximum labour rate band.
The programme is reviewed annually in terms of programme structure, packaged job prices (we retain the ability at any time to introduce updates to the Fleet Package Pricing system settings to reflect RRP changes) and the range of maximum labour rate bands charged chosen by participating Van Centres.
Basket pricing
We know that fleet van operators need to look at the whole-life costs of running a van. As such we constantly monitor the prices of equivalent parts from other manufacturers against parts such as brake shoes, wiper blades, air filters and clutch assembly, ensuring our costs are competitive and favourable. Of course, all our parts are manufactured to the highest possible standard providing the reliability and quality you'd expect from Volkswagen. |
